Who She Is

WLmacrame

Jana Shalom is a nationally respected educator, consultant, and creative whose work sits at the intersection of neurobiology, trauma, spirituality, and system redesign. As the founder of Weaving Legacy, she teaches a revolutionary truth: regulation isn’t calm — regulation is coming home.

Her work restores nervous-system sovereignty: the ability to follow the brace, call yourself home, and return to truth in real time.

Her guiding ethic is simple and radical:
Attunement is the act of allowing space and grace for someone else to call themselves home.

A late-realized neurodivergent adult with two decades of experience in early childhood education, Jana brings both lived reality and professional depth. She has trained thousands of educators, administrators, and organizations in understanding behavior through attunement rather than control—offering practical tools that center humanity over hierarchy.

She blends scientific clarity with mythic storytelling, helping audiences see the architecture beneath burnout, overwhelm, and misattuned environments. Her signature work reframes meltdowns as overflow, behavior as communication, and regulation as a relational practice.

Jana believes much of the pain within the neurodivergent community stems from a pathological lens—an approach that treats neurodivergent traits as disorders to be cured rather than natural variations to be supported and understood.

She also recognizes that neurodivergent processing can absolutely be a disability.
Acknowledging the natural variation of human brains does not erase the real challenges many neurodivergent people experience.

The harm comes when society tries to cure or eliminate instead of creating environments that genuinely support and include. Our work begins with understanding, not fixing. When we provide access, accommodation, and attuned care, we honor both the beauty and the complexity of neurodivergent lives.

Her voice is warm, direct, and disarming — equal parts truth bomb and nervous-system balm. She speaks to the parts of us that have been overextended, overlooked, and under-attuned, offering a path forward rooted in genuine presence, repair, and collective belonging.

Jana restores nervous system sovereignty by helping people follow the brace, call themselves home, and return to truth in real time.

What She Teaches

With over two decades of educational experience, Jana weaves neurobiological depth with lived neurodivergent experience in every training, course, and offering.

Her approach blends:

  • Nervous-system science

  • Trauma awareness

  • Spiritual depth

  • Mythic storytelling

  • Neurodivergent brilliance

  • Practical strategies for everyday moments

Her work helps people understand that children are not broken; our systems are. She offers a radical inversion: the environment must evolve to meet human needs. She teaches that safety—not performance—is the true foundation for learning and growth, and that belonging—not compliance—is the measure of a healthy system.

How She Works

Jana’s facilitation marries science and soul, blending developmental neuroscience with moral imagination. This rare integration allows her to bridge data and dignity, empowering others to create change without abandoning humanity in the process.

Her approach is both practical and profound — scalable through presence rather than protocol.

One regulated adult at a time, she helps restore wholeness as a measurable outcome of care.

When nervous systems change, systems change. This is the core belief that guides Weaving Legacy.

I wish every parent of a neurodivergent child could have the opportunity to take Jana’s course. Her approach is so honest and her passion is evident.
